Now that Spring is here, there are no excuses to pay a visit to the many gorgeous places that Canada has to offer.

Last year starting June, my family an I went with our friends and my in-laws to spend half a day in Quarry Lake, Canmore, Alberta.

This is a beautiful place ideal to go walking, hiking, swimming, and enjoying picnics, all while appreciating the stunning views.

Some details to be aware if you are visiting Quarry Park for the first time are:

  • Make sure you know if your portable barbecue is permitted.
  • Put all the waste on the garbage cans.
  • It doesn’t matter if the weather is sunny and warm, take with you a light cardigan.

I hope you visit Quarry Lake and many other parks in Canada. You’ll remember them forever!

I'm Ilse Barrios.

I started this blog as a journal to document my life in Canada. My family and I came to Calgary in 2016, and I’m still figuring out life around here.In case you haven’t noticed yet, (ha!) English is my second language, so I apologize in advance if misspellings or lousy grammar get in the middle of the stories but writing in English is an everyday challenge, and I love it!
